Drake takes the engineering approach to designing our suspension components in order to deliver a final product that is optimized for performance and durability. Here is a brief summary to give you a glimpse of superior processes that Drake demands:

MANUFACTURING

Many would be surprised to find out that some of the big name companies are using low-grade materials and manufacturing processes to build their highly stressed suspension components. At Drake we use only the best materials available. All welds are tig welded with mandatory post heat treating to relieve stress and equalize the strength taken away at the welding zone. This is a process many companies fail to complete leaving you with a part that is in many cases weaker than the factory piece. Our welds have gone through rigorous inspection using x-ray, dye penetrant, and utra sonics to ensure proper penetration.

DESIGN/ENGINEERING

Our staff of degreed engineers use the latest Computer Aided Design (CAD) 3D model software coupled with CMM scanning devices, Rapid Prototyping, and vehicle dynamics software.

We utilize data direct from the OEMs to ensure exact fit and function.

TESTING

We employ some of the most rigorous test methods to ensure a product that not only works, but lasts. All our suspension has logged many hours of repeated track and slalom testing. We also use Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software to give us a starting point for checking stress and areas we can improve upon.
