An ACC Carpets Original-Style Molded Carpet can help your 1965–1968 Mustang coupe, convertible, or fastback restoration by finishing off your interior with this high quality carpet. This carpet is tufted to the traditional 5/32-gauge loop and is created from the same loop material blend as the original (80% rayon and 20% nylon). Each square yard has a full 24 ounces of yarn, and each one is tested for ozone humidity fading, light fastness, and durability. These carpets include an OEM heel and toe cushion that matches the color of the carpet, as well as a 36 oz. jute padding bonded to the underside for insulation. Additionally, This Carpet is not only molded to fit the original floor contours of your Mustang but we offer a wide array of original colors. All can be purchased with or without the heavy duty Mass Backing upgrade.

A Bit About MASS BACKING:

Between the carpet and the jute insulation is a hard, rubber layer called mass back, which improves the carpet's shape and stiffness while reducing noise from the road. It basically removes the need for Dynamat or any other form of supplementary sound deadener because it is 40 mils thick. The mass back carpet will fit exactly like the original carpet while improving insulation, sound deadening, and moldability. Mass-backed carpet is significantly simpler to install than traditional poly-backed carpet since it maintains its form much better.

The carpets from ACC do not have pre-cut holes, so you may make the necessary cuts just where they are required for different interior components.

Tech Tip: Your new carpet may have several creases when you first take it out of the box. That is typical. To assist soften the jute backing and lessen the amount of apparent wrinkles before installation, we advise leaving the carpet out in the sun for a few hours.
